Putting it out there

As of late…I have realized the importance of asking what you want for yourself; putting it out to the universe what it is you need or hope to see in your life.  

My yoga teacher training class had us make vision boards.  The purpose/intent of the vision board is a daily reminder of those things that you want to see in your life or a reminder of what is truly important.

I put my vision board in my closet…I have to get dressed every day, 0r at least change into new yoga pants ;), it made sense to put my board where I am day in and day out.

Because I put what it is I want to see in my life on something I see every day, I have noticed that I have actually been accomplishing things I have meant to get done for a long time now.

For example:  I really want to make family meals easier.  I am a busy mom and I am constantly running from one thing to the next and meal times always sneak up on me.  I made a point, once we moved, to only grocery shop once a week and meal plan/prep every Sunday.  I have done this 2 weekends in a row and it feels amazing!

Homemade twix bars for healthy/indulgent snacking.  I got the recipe from here.  I tweaked the recipe and used oat flour instead of coconut flour and sun butter in place of the almond butter.

My weekly menu also included Lentil Soup, Gluten-Free Curry Chicken Pot Pieand my own recipe Better Than Qdoba Burrito Bowl.  There is more than enough food to get us through until next Sunday!

The other thing that was really big on my vision board was the word “HEALTHY”.  I want to see healthy in all aspects of my life.  I want to focus on healthier bodies for all of our family.  I want to focus on healthier thoughts/ways to deal with negative energy.  I feel like healthy is a great theme for our life right now!

Staying healthy physically means moving our bodies and getting fresh air as much as we can.  The weather is supposed to get super cold this week so I bundled up the boys and we went out exploring; I also played momma pack-mule for a bit too…as usual 😉

We all feel so much better when we get outdoors, even on the coldest of days.  

The boys came back and played with their legos, train tracks, Rescue Bots…there minds obviously more at ease after their bodies were out moving around for a bit.  I kept cooking meals for the week while listening to podcasts; another thing I put on my vision board.  

Podcasts are a great way for me to educate myself that fits with my busy mom schedule. I would love to join a book club and legitimately sit down and read…but that is not a reality for me at this moment so podcasts seem to be the best of both worlds…education through others’ knowledge, research, and stories.

I found a great new podcast, “Birthful”.

I searched under the topic pregnancy and this podcast came up.  Adriana does a great job covering a spectrum of topics related to pregnancy and child birth and is definitely worth checking out.  I will be listening to her podcasts again and again.

I hope to continue to work on keeping up with my vision board and what it is I want to see for my family and myself.  I am a big believer that you have to intentionally put it out there what you want.  I don’t believe in waiting around for good things to come into my life; I believe that we have to actively ask/work for what we want…it is a daily thing and I am making it part of my routine.
