I was sitting down to post something for posting sake…and then as I was logging on to my blog; I got a beautiful message from a beautiful mom and reader who happened upon my blog and wanted to give me some very positive feed back.
There are a lot of nights that I sit in front of the screen and question what I’m even doing thinking that my thoughts or daily doings would be even remotely interesting enough to share on a blog.
Pitty parties don’t last long in my world. I don’t believe in fixating on the negatives, but thriving in the positives. I have let self-doubt and loathing take over too much of my world and it never got me anywhere good.
I blog because I am a mom who is madly, deeply, truly in love with being a mom. I am also a runner who is madly, deeply, and truly in love with running and how running makes me feel. Both motherhood and running have given me a chance to live life as authentically as myself as possible. Both help me express myself in a positive and productive way and I constantly find myself wanting to share my successes and failures with the world so that maybe someone else will find inspiration in my sharing.
I realize that Facebook, instragram, and other social media only give snap shots of what a person’s life might be like; mostly what that person wants you to see. I liked the idea that blogging gave me an outlet to share more of my authentic self; the good, the bad, the ugly.
I consider reaching one person a job well done and the fuel to further my blogging adventure. I want to let you all know that I am merely mortal and that if I can nurse my kids both past molars 😉 nurse while pregnant too, chose to push 135# stroller around town training for my next race, run PR’s I never thought possible, make friendships that I never would have formed without having my children, or the friendships I would have missed out on if I hand’t decided to don my first pair of running shoes….this is who Run Nelly Run is and I have so much more to share 😉
Thank you again when you do take the time to leave me a message. I truly appreciate each and everyone of you.
and running…this is what makes my world go round. Most things I don’t do in a conventional way, but I’m so glad so many of you find that to be the best part of me 🙂
