Sunday, Family Fun Day

Sunday has become our favorite day around here.  I think it has a lot to do with us realizing that the weekend is almost over and we are desperately trying to squeeze every ounce of fun we can before the week days arrive once again.

We went out to visit some friends on the edge of town.  Mitch and Kimberly have great land where kids and adults with kid-like tendencies can go and feel free.

The boys met a snapping turtle who quickly held their curiosity.  They were amazed at how big he was and the length of his tail, which was very long.

If you’re wondering what that green is, it’s Duck Weed…it stinks and skims the surface of most ponds out here.  It is fine when you are in an open area like we were.  However, when I am on my long runs…there’s nothing more “refreshing” than breathing in the musk of Duck Weed while running past dirty road ponds and lakes…it stinks!

The boys got to zip line too!

Trout was in his element 😉

Bodhi got to try out the “big boy” zip line.  Ryan and him tried to con me into going with him…I wasn’t super excited about climbing up a tree stand ladder…Heights and I are not friends 😉

It has been 4 days since I have run last.  However, in the grand scheme of things…it really isn’t as earth shattering as it may sound.  I think my body needed this rest and I am honoring it’s ability to tell me when I am teetering between “Just Right” and “Too Much”.

I am so fortunate to have the ability to ride an Elliptigo while I am on the mend.  Ryan is truly a great guy for working so hard for these luxuries….it is never taken for granted!

I am not that surprised when Trout begged me to go running this morning while he would ride in the stroller.  I always feel bad about hauling them around, but they love it.

For now I should really call myself ridenellyride 😉  While  I am figuring out what my body needs I will be doing A LOT of elliptigo and core stability work and other things to keep myself in the best shape possible.

OOOOH! I also registered to become a 200 hr. yoga instructor.  It will be an entire weekend once a month and will end in April.  I am beyond excited and will have to tell you more once I’ve had my first class.

I’ve always wanted to become a yoga instructor, but never had the opportunity with two littles and not affording the ability to leave town while I studied to become one. I am bubbling with glee!

Super excited for you! You will be a great yoga instructor!

thank you Jamie! I was practically floating when I found out that there was going to be training in our area! This sort of thing doesn’t happen very often here in ND 😉
