These last 10 days I have really enjoyed living life a little more “un-plugged”.
Of course, I still made sure to check in via Instagram & Facebook, but all-in-all, I was living foot-loose and fancy free 😉
Wyoming remains my forever home. I never feel quite like myself until I am running amongst the sage grass, 8,000 ft. up in the air, and listening to antelope calling to others around me…nothing else can really compare.
Vacationing for me never really feels like a vacation. Being a mom of 2 little people keeps me busy chasing them around, making sure bellies are full, naps are had, and little minds and bodies are exercised round the clock. However, when we are back in wyoming….I have the great outdoors as my babysitter and in-laws who are more than happy to watch over Bodhi and Trout while I play.
Meet Aysa. She was my “ride” for the week 😉 This lady is not a push-over, (meaning I learned how to be much more confident rider) and I loved her little skip before she started to trot or lope….I am obsessed and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my early mornings than riding on the back of this beauty.
My trip involved a lot of firsts for all of us! I got to swim a horse for the first time! I admit I was a bit nervous at first, but, I put on my big girl pants and rode in the water with as much confidence as I could….Aysa and Molly (a friend’s horses) loved to swim and Mary Anne (a true blue cowgirl and friend) was a great teacher! Aside from running in Boston, marrying Ryan, becoming a mom to my two littles…this moment was right up there!
Bodhi rode a horse for the fist time this trip and got to go on an all-day fishing excursion with his dad 🙂
Trout got to ride a horse as well, but, his FAVORITE ride was with his Grandpa on his John Deer.
A big thank you to my mother and father-in-law who really did make us feel at home, never made us feel like we were overstaying our welcome, and allowed Ryan and I to feel like we were truly on vacation…these past 10 days went by in a flash; I suppose when you are truly happy time seems to move faster than you would like.
Ryan, his mom, and Trout.
Grandpa with my boys 🙂
Wyoming, we will be back for you one of these days!
