Running, awe running….you are such an amazing gift in my life and I really don’t know what I would do without you!
9-ish miles with these gremlins! Today, like any day, I am so appreciative of getting out and doing the thing I love being with the ones I love.
I am always reminded that running is not a right, it’s a privilege. I never really understood that until I realized that I could wake up tomorrow and have it taken away from me. I worked at a PT office down in WY and I met some incredible people while I was there. However, the hard part of the job as well as the most rewarding part included working with those who would never be able to use their legs again. I specifically remember working with a man who had MS and looked forward to my aid while I assisted the PTs in helping him stand for his exercises. He definitely said it sucked having MS, but he never let that get in the way of his relentless flirting and overall satisfaction in life, (I think the whole wheelchair/eagle shirts was his success as a babe magnet 😉 ). I never had a moment spent with him that I didn’t walk away completely blown away by his spirit and it always made being on my own two feet healthfully feel like a huge gift.
Today and every day, wether the run was good, bad, hard, easy, fast, slow….I still get to go out there and run…so in that respect every day is running day for me 😉
Thank you legs for carrying me through the ups and downs and some crazy wonderful miles! I will do my best to keep you healthy and strong for the next run!
Hope you all had a run-filled day <3
