Run Nelly Run

Run Nelly Run

Running through life as self-proclaimed house wife, mother, homeschooler, and wanna-be chef

Did you miss me?

Did you miss me? I sure missed blogging and sharing what has been going on in my life.  It’s funny how when you settle into a routine and you go off grid for a bit how lost you can end up feeling.

What have I been up to? where have I been?

I traveled back to Montana where my family lives, which was awesome! I don’t get to see my niece and nephews nearly enough and I am insistent that they know their Aunt Nelly in all her craziness.

My nephew Benny! he was not too sure about me at first…but we became buddies fast 😉

The boys never skipped a beat from their last visit…the cousins went about running and playing untilcomplete exhaustion took over…it was glorious.

The icing on the cake; my cousin came out to visit at the same time.  We got to visit with her and her family.  The boys had a blast hanging out with “Fi”, their second cousin…we really are all about the family!

I got to catch up with a long lost friend, trail running.

The boys got plenty of mountain air, Montana sunshine, and lots of walks with their Grandma Pam.

Poor Bodhi was sick the entire time we were there, but that didn’t stop him from running around and enjoying every moment he could with his cousins….what a man!

My mom spoiled me! She knows how much I love soft, warm things around my neck!

I might have gotten a new pair of shoes that I was completely convinced I wouldn’t love, but the moment we had our first run…it was a love story only poets write about 😉

I still love a “minimalist” shoe….meaning not a lot of arch support, neutral….connecting to the ground….but the Cliftons……they give my legs some much needed TLC without weighing me down and giving me the ability to still hit my stride like I normally do.  I am in LOVE.

When in mountain country, one must ski, (at least in our world)….sadly, Trout has a weird thing about his feet and ski boots so Bodhi and I hit the slopes while my mom and Trout hung out in the chalet.  I don’t know what I would do without my mom and her support….she insisted I ski with Bodhi and I am so glad I did…I love spending time with my man doing something I have loved since I was a little girl.

We did so much more, but I’m afraid it would take a lot of time to catch you all up and I’m afraid I would overwhelm with the amount of photos and anecdotes.

I did run a race while I was here….I am going to leave you in suspense for a little bit more while I get my life back in order.  I am glad to be back to writing and hope you are happy to be back reading my posts!
