Run Nelly Run

Running through life as self-proclaimed house wife, mother, homeschooler, and wanna-be chef

Double-run day, abs, and multi-purposing greeting cards

I think it’s safe to say that I have gotten used to waking up early.  I don’t even have to have my alarm wake me…I just kind of intuitively know when to get up.

The beginning of the week brings a “kid on Christmas morning” kind of excitement in regards to my new training Rx for the week.  I have 3 dbl. run days prescribed and I couldn’t be any more geeked out about it!

My second run for the day was shorter so I made a point to pack the boys in the stroller and hoof it with my boys and puppy girl.

I have really got to work on the action shots! I just can’t seem to get the timing down right and had to stand there like a putz “pretending” to run.

I also found ways to multipurpose my running stroller…who says you can’t run 4 miles, stretch, and do yoga all while hanging with a stroller!  I am pretty sure if my dogs could talk they would have some choice words.

Monday’s mean library day for my boys.  I love that Bodhi has his time while I hang with the Trout-man.  Trout and I don’t get a lot of one on one like I did with Bodhi…He really thrives when I can focus specifically on his interests.

Of course my boys always do best when they’re together!

Bodhi had a Target gift card burning a hole in his pocket from Christmas….so we headed to Target and bought him a pretty fancy nerf gun.

I used to be the mom who said no guns of any kind in our house….however, that lasted all of 2 seconds after realizing that boys will turn anything into a gun….anything.

Bodhi even had me practicing some target shooting

By the way…if you’re wondering what to do with those greeting cards that seem to plague your conscience after the holidays have passed, (I always feel guilty throwing them away…I know it took a lot of effort to send it out and I appreciate the thought that goes behind getting cards)….use them as a target for nerf practice!

Thank you Great Grandma Shirley for the Christmas Card! the boys are still enjoying it 😉

I also bought myself this brand of mascara.  I don’t wear makeup of any kind….but with waking up extra early, I could use all the help I can get! I look tired!  I love Aveda Mosscara…but wanted to see if there was another brand I could use besides Aveda….the verdict is still out!

My coach, Mat, posted a video of an ab work-out.  I tried 3 circuits of his exercises tonight, they were tough, but great!  I enjoy core work, especially when I have had diastasis recti after both of my pregnancies, (too big of buns in too little of an oven is how I explain it to most!).

Wishing all a great week filled with speedy speed work, happy long runs, and easier easy days, (this is all in regards to running 😉 ).

Would love to learn how you corrected your diastasis recti!!! Mine is pretty bad after baby 3 and I haven’t found a good routine to work on. Thanks! Oh and I love reading your blog

Kristen, Truthfully, I didn’t even know I had it until I read other women and their “pooch” problems. I also would notice when I was getting up that there was a ridge in-between my two ab muscles. When I asked my midwife she said it definitely was diastasis recti. I still work on brining the muscles back together and am learning as I go.
