Run Nelly Run

Run Nelly Run

Running through life as self-proclaimed house wife, mother, homeschooler, and wanna-be chef

Some of my favorite things!

I feel like a negative nancy lately, so I thought I would share some of my favorite things as of late

Winter walks with these two fur balls! I love spending quality time with my loves.  They are so accommodating with our new lifestyle consisting of 2 un-furry children, (who love to hassle their puppies) as well as my need for longer mileage…they’ll take anything they can get and I’m glad to give them a walk everyday!

Beanies! I love my pistil beanie that I’m wearing pictured above.  It had a really cute pom pom on top, but fell off during one of my “extreme weather” winter runs =(

Also my crooked smile.  I used to be so self-conscious about it…now I embrace the fact that my mouth looks a little off kilter…makes me unique 😉

Coming home to this face! I love whenever I do leave my little men they great me with love, smiles, and goofiness! Life’s too short to take it too seriously…glad I’m rubbing off on them.

“New Girl”! I am in love with watching this show while I chug away on the treadmill.  The cast is hilarious and incredibly believable….the show makes me crave cutting my hair with bangs and wearing skirts or put-together outfits…until I realize my reality is running and bangs do not mix with cold/windy weather.  I wouldn’t know how to put together an “outfit” to save my life, so that’s out of the question too.

During my longer runs, this is my go-to podcast! I love Julia Hanlon and her choice of guests.  Listening to running on OM always leaves me feeling inspired to do better and be the best me I can be, (the ROO podcast high only lasts as long as it takes for me to leave the boys alone with one another and a fight ensues moments later…maybe I should play ROO for all of my family to hear).

My other go-to podcast.  Cooking with the Moms appeals to the nutrition-lover side of me! I also find the hosts voices very reminiscent of the Saturday Night Live skit with Alec Baldwin and his Schweddy Balls.

Being a midwesterner, you appreciate talk about casseroles, hand-knit sweaters, a good cup of coco all while elongating our vowels talking about it 😉

These are my favorite of favorites lately! However, I will always consider my boys telling me they love me, a long run spent with great friends, and time spent with Ryan on my permanent favorite thing list!

What podcasts are you listening to?

Do you like any netflix series, if so, which one? I’m also hooked on “Fixer Upper” and “Black List”
