A Holiday Worth Celebrating!

Happy Chocolate Covered Anything Day!

th-7  I don’t normally partake in daily holidays, like donut day, (although that is genius)…however, chocolate holds a very near and dear place in my heart.  What would this world be like without chocolate really?! I would rather not think such a terrible thought.

To help honor and celebrate Chocolate Covered Anything Day I thought I would obviously, eat some chocolate and also share some much needed chocolate love/humor:

I don't closet my chocolate obsession,

My boys don’t have a closet chocolate eating mom…they know when there is chocolate around to back off until mama has had her share =)

umm…yes…deadlifting 200 lbs vs. eating just one piece of chocolate…responsibly eating chocolate is much harder!

My current favorite chocolate covered recipes are:

Thick & Soft Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookieschocpbcookies-10

Bodhi and I are a little/a lot obsessed with this recipe!  I make them with organic peanut butter, coconut sugar, and raw cacao powder so naturally I feel justified in letting my little man and I have quite a few breakfasts that include these amazing nuggets of goodness =)

Dark Chocolate Avocado Truffles

Sounds weird, right? But, they are definitely delicious! I’ve made them for a lot of friendly gatherings and they are always, always a big hit, (no one can ever tell they’re made with avocado and it helps me use up the bruised avocados whilst also getting my daily dose of chocolate).  Roll these bad boys in raw cacao and you’re getting your daily dose of healthy fats as well as antioxidants…who am I kidding?! It’s still a treat, but I’m obsessed so I’m okay with giving in to my inner choco-monster.

Chocolate Banana Pudding Cake

I make this every Christmas! It is again, my “healthier” take on chocolate deserts…but it tastes incredibly decadent.  The Filling includes:

  • Raw cacao
  • banana
  • avocado
  • maple syrup
  • coconut oil
  • agave

How can you go wrong right?! Anyone in the area should pop over to my place for some “pie”…it is worth the trip.

I realize that these recipes aren’t really “chocolate covered” however, there is cacao powder dusting, cacao nib topping, as well as coconut milk whipped cream goodness that will make you forget all about the lack of “chocolate coating”

Thank you for helping me celebrate an incredibly worthy cause.

How do you like you’re chocolate?

What is your favorite chocolate covered recipe? would love for you to share!
