Sunday, Fun Day

Have I mentioned how much I love weekends? well, I do!

I think it’s safe to say that this guy loves them too! especially after watching the finals of our local rodeo.

Can I go out on a limb here and say I am a freak about rodeos! I love everything about them…it’s always entertaining, (enough to hold our 2 toddlers’ attention for over 3 hours!!!) you get to gawk at some amazingly beautiful horses, and it reminds me of living in Wyoming.

Okay, so Bodhi doesn’t have you sold on the thrill factor…but I’m pretty sure they were introducing all the sponsors at this point, and it went on a little too long…once the rodeo actually started, this boy was all smiles.

Bucking broncos…I was too excited watching to take any good photos of the actual riders (it was funny to look around and see how many were “watching” through their iPhones)…

I hate sitting through an hour long movie…but I’ll gladly sit for a 3 hour rodeo…I love them.

Speaking of loves….my lovely husband rocked it on our stair run this morning!  Not only did he suggest that we go, (even though I was prepared to  go for a nice, easy jog after yesterdays long run) he ROCKED the workout.

Our workout was a ladder drill, 2 x’s up and down hill/stairs w/

  • 10 burpees
  • 10 mountain climbers
  • 10 russian twists
  • 30 second planks

Every time we did 2 hills we did one less of our weight bearing drills (10-9-8-on down to 1…does that make sense?)

Rye got tired and the boys were bored so I finished up the work out at home, (because I’m a nut like that and I wanted to see it all the way through)

See =)

After, I drank my daily greens/probiotic/collagen peptide/maca mixture, (I know sounds like a lot, but I prefer it to a ton of pills).  I also take proteolytic enzymes.

I want to talk more about proteolytic enzymes later, because I feel like they are such a great recovery tool for me and have really helped me ward off muscle soreness.

my daily “sludge”….looks not so great, but is an important part of my training and overall well-being

I also went online to order Cocogo.

I have been following this amazing woman and her blog over at Jen Chooses Joy.  She is an ambassador for this product and uses it for all of her longer runs.  I am always looking for a natural electrolyte replacement. I will let you know what I think when I try it out.

Hope you all had a great weekend as well!

What do you use for an electrolyte replacement?
